Dana, an Illinois native, grew up in the Chicago suburb of St. Charles. She went into the behavioral health field due to her belief that it has been under-represented when dealing with the person as a whole. She is passionate about helping individuals and families find their purpose and full potential, fully recognizing that life is full of peaks and valleys. Dana is profoundly committed to providing evidence-based care to each patient—treatment that offers proven, measurable outcomes of success.
At Family Recovery Centers, Dana is in charge of programmatic oversight, clinical supervision, staff training and program evaluation/outcomes. She has implemented an outcomes system including both standardized measures as well as behavioral tracking. Dana provides dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) training to all staff and continually evaluates the effectiveness of the program. Dana oversees the internship program at FRC as well.
Dana received an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign. She went on to earn an AM degree in Social Service Administration with a specialization in policy analysis from the University of Chicago.
Dana has spent time working in both Inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. She also has experience working in juvenile detention as well as a Rape Crisis/Domestic violence volunteer. She has specialized training in couples therapy and incorporates this into her work with families at FRC. She has presented workshops and trainings on multiple topics to educators, clinicians and the community, including “DBT skills training for Adolescents”. Dana is actively involved in the community and incorporates this passion into her work and the foundation of FRC.
