About Family Recovery Centers

Family Recovery Centers, (FRC), formerly known as the Child, Adolescent and Family Recovery Center, opened its doors in 2009 to meet a growing need in the Chicagoland area. Depression, anxiety and maladaptive behaviors were escalating throughout the adolescent population, leaving families feeling stuck and ambivalent as to where to turn. FRC was created to offer parents and their children an evidence-based treatment approach that provided lasting recovery.

Throughout the years, we have refined our program to meet the ever-changing needs of our patients. We have expanded from one location to four and now have centers in Lake Bluff, Hoffman Estates, St. Charles, and Plano. As an intensive outpatient program (IOP), we conduct therapy from 5-8pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; Tuesday and Friday evenings are adolescent-only. This allows regular work and school schedules to remain intact.  Clinical research supports a longer length of stay; this is why we encourage patients to commit to our care for a minimum of 10-12 weeks.

Our clinical team is a collection of dedicated, empathetic and committed professionals working every day to improve the lives of those in their care. Each clinician is a master's level or higher licensed clinician and FRC is accredited by The Joint Commission for Behavioral Health and licensed by the State of Illinois. Because patients and parents often require help outside of designated treatment hours, our clinicians are available 24/7 to provide crisis management and in-the-moment skills coaching to help patients during times of distress in their home environment.
